Gain freedom from freedom

I thought of what to write on this independence day as a reacting indian and suddenly the word "freedom" came to my mind. Many great souls sacrificed alot and even shed their lives to gain the freedom we are enjoying now.
But, how many of us know the real value of the freedom we are enjoying. To know its value we should have a knowledge about the lack of freedom in many other nations. There are countries who rule with iron hands. We are a kind of people who always raise our voices for our rights but there are countries who suppress even the minute protests with iron and cage. So, what I was trying to say was  that we are one of the luckiest society at present in the world because of the level of freedom we are enjoying. But, the freedom has actually enslaved us. On this independence day, on the occassion which we remember those great souls who fought with their lives to grab this freedom for us, I call upon you to fight against the misuse of this freedom. Not in streets, not through dirty hunger strikes, not through any kind of protests but in yourselves. Fight against that person inside you who is misusing the great freedom of our nation. Citizens are supposed to enjoy the freedom, not to be the slaves of freedom. In India, we have the freedom to express but dont take it as an opportunity to abuse others, we have the freedom to earn but dont take it as a right to earn what you dont deserve. You have the freedom to travel around the nation, but dont take it as a right to litter the nation. I have personally seen people who are at their international best at other countries but at their worst when they land on their home, India. For example, no one will ask anything to you if you spit on roads even when it is a serious offense in many other countries, but it is a question of our dignity, whether we do that or not. It is easy to blame others for many drawbacks of our country. I am against all those unnecessary agitations because we are living in a democracy and if our country has problems, we are the real reasons for that. For example, 'corruption'. The recent headlines are striken with the agitations happening in the north of the country against the black money and corruption. But have you ever thought how is this black money created. Unaccountable money is called black money, black money is not inly the uncountable crores related to 2G spectrum and all, it is only a larger version of what we see even in our village offices. How is it generated? Beauraucrats and politicians have unaccountable money because someone is giving them money. I swear that 99% of the total earning indians have bribed the beauraucrats, atleast once in their life. And that money is called black money. So, it is us who should change. If we want corruption to be eliminated, we should not involve in that process and there is no use of going behind some leaders budded yesterday who themselves are alleged with corruption to bring down a social evil which has its roots way down. I think i diverted a bit from the topic. What i was talking was about freedom. On this august 15, lets take an oath that we will get rid of overfreedom. We know the value of day only because of night, similarly Freedom is best enjoyed when there are limits for that. If the authorities are not keeping limits for your freedom, you yourselves shiuld do that. Behave as a dignified Indian and a patriotic Indian. Because, those great freedom fighters bought us freedom not to misuse like this but to value it and to enjoy it. Gain freedom from overfreedom for a better India.
Jai Hind and Happy Independence Day.

Poor Exposure for Rural Indian Students.

It was shocking and hurting for me to realize that the students of rural India are not at all getting opportunities and exposure, not even half of those who are living in cities. It is really difficult for them to cop up with the speed at which the world is moving.I was born and brought up in a metro city called cochin. Those places which I used to travel were also metros like bangalore and chennai. I used to read about the tears and problems of the poor Indian but i was not having acquaintance with any of such people who are struggling. My eyes were veiled with the Glamour and bliss of the city were I live. I am a proud Indian and I have got all the opportunities and exposure that anyone of my age anywhere in the world may get. I have never thought that someone in USA or China may get a better life than mine. I was overjoyed with the facilities my country is providing to me. But sadly, i have realized that I am a part of the minority who is blessed to enjoy the shining India. Recently I personally witnessed the terrible situation of the rural Indian, the poor Indian. My college, though it is a High end one is located in a very rural part of Kerala. Last day a program was conducted in my college participating the students of a local school. I was in charge of the program and the students participating was from 9th grade classes. While interacting with them, i realized the pathetic situation of the quality of education they are recieving. Most of them had the stories of poverty and starvation to share with me. All of them were staring at my Galaxy Ace Plus and they told me that they dont even know what is a smartphone. They were not aware of the latest technologies and the endless possibilities of it. None of them had a computer at home while I and my friends spent our childhood years before in the midst of computer games. Many of them dont even know who is the president of the country. It was really hurting for me to witness what i often read in articles and magazines. This is a question to the government and the authorities who project the cities as their claim that India is in tremendous growth. I dont want to keenly observe the GDP and rate of inflation until the facilities of whome i see infront of my eyes have not increased. To be frank, those students whom i saw last day are not even getting half of the opportunities which i recieved at their age. i am happy to hear that new programmes and plans like smartclass and all are introduced to improve the standard of education, but it is not reaching to those who really deserve it. I personally enquired to them about this and they told me that they have not even heard of smart classes.
Immediate steps should be taken to provide the rural India with better facilities and opportunities. The politicians and the media should concentrate on issues like this instead of the dirty political dramas. India should awake to this issue, because they are our future and only better education can create better leaders and better administrators and as mahatmaji said, Our dreams lies in Villages.

Olympics questioning India's competency.

Congrats to the medal winners of india in london olympics. It is a fact that their achievements have brought glory to the nation, but is India's alround performance in olympics a glorified one? It is true that the number  of medals we are grabbing is slightly improving year by year, but to be frank it is a very slow increase. We dont have any outstanding performers to be shown infront of the world. We also lack consistent performers. Why India stays at the bottom of the points table, while her communist neighbour who has similar physical conditions creates new records at the topspot. The real problem is the system and attittude of people here in india. For India, it is not unaffordable to create any most modern sports atmosphere here, but the question is who is interested. The whole system of sports administration here has some defects. The talented sportspersons in our country except a very few are not interested in a longlasting sports career. What many if them target is a government job and to spend the rest of their life without much effort. The system in our country is really promoting that attittude in sportspersons. What we need is a total change. I am not advocating for the iron cage training methods of china, and i am strongly against the practice of grabbing golds in midst of tears. What we need is a proffessional approach to competitions like these. Olympics is an arena of show off of power and competency. That is why the most powerful nations (both economical and military strength) often grab the topspots in medals table.India should consider the importance of sports in showing off its power and credibility to the world. Sports careers should be promoted in the country and talented sportsmen should be provided with the most modern training. Instead of spoiling their skills by giving them government jobs, sports careers should be considered as a profession and they should be paid according to their performance and achievements. The concept of sports schools should get more prominance and more than all these, the attittude of people should change. Instead of forcing their children to be doctors and engineers, try to identify if they have some talent in sportsfield. Allow him to do better in his field of expertise and tomorrow, he may add one to the medals table of india. So, what we need is as i always say, some kind of positive nationalism. All i said was only my opinions and everyone is free to disagree with it if they think so. Even in the midst of all this, i am a proud indian who is over joyed in the achievements of Saina, Mary,Vijay and Gagan. Keep up the goodwork lads... bring glory to the nation.

Major problems of India.

India, a country blessed with many resources. A country having the brightest brains in the world. Variety of cultures, people, climate and land. Even after 60 years of independence, India lacks something. She is still a developing country. What is pulling back India from a total growth even at the times favourable for her. I am not talking about a recent down trend in the GDP and other figures due to the global recession. but what I have to share is that our minds are a bit unsatisfied, we have a feeling that the things could have been better. better infrastructure, better transportation facilities, lower poverty lines and more. altogether, better living conditions. WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE LACK OF THESE BETTER THINGS? My answer is corruption. I know that many of our leaders and bureaucrats are corrupted. what they earn through corruption is what we deserve. it is our money, the country's money. even the restlessness which often happen in our country is also a product of corruption. if the country is providing enough for the people, they wont go behind other activities which can hurt the nation to earn more. What we, the common people should have is some patriotism. corruption should be rooted out from the bottom level. we have to do that. Try not to get things done easily through bribing. when you are ready to bribe, how can we blame the one who is receiving that? I strongly believe that corruption and lack of nationalism is the major cause of all the downfalls our country has faced till now.
